Design Brief /concepts
Design Brief
The objective is to design cane living room furniture for cane lab targeting younger couples in the age group of about 25-30 years of age who fall into the higher income group.
Hence, the furniture needs to be according to the likes and lifestyle of the target group.
The factors that have to be considered while designing the furniture are as follows:
- The shape should be aesthetically appealing and the form should be according to human body structural limitations. The furniture should look modern , fun and vibrant.
- It should not have any sort of visual discomfort. It must look convenient.
- The selling price of the furniture should be around the range of 75000 INR - 90000 INR.
- Also the sizes of the furniture should be handy to operate and easy to maintain.
Inspiration Board
As, cane naturally has a crafty feel to it for the designs I wanted to draw inspiration from things that were contrasting to or different from cane.
Hence I considered day today objects which have a futuristic/ modern feel to them for inspiration.
For my designs I tried to follow the curves and angles as in these objects.
